Sdltrs manual6/9/2023 ![]() The size byte doesn’t count these starting two bytes, and it treats a 0 byte as representing 256 bytes of content. Each file is a series of chunks, and each chunk starts with two bytes indicating its type and its size. These files are pretty simple, but they’re also pretty inconvenient. I’ve written a simple program to accomplish this. Much like those, though, the raw binary image produced isn’t good enough to actually make it runnable we need to convert it to a CMD file to actually run it. The z88dk assembler that I’ve been using for the Genesis and the Sinclair line works just as well here. $6A00 turns out to be a good place to put our code. RAM starts at $4000 and the OS uses the lower part of it. The TRS-80 uses a stock Z80 chip, and the BIOS gives us a pretty free hand with what we can do with it.
